Discussion questions can be tricky for mysteries as you don’t want to give anything away, below are some (mostly) spoiler-free questions for Wolf at the Door, book one of the Call of the Wilde Mystery series.

Did you have a favorite character (human or otherwise) in the book?

Least favorite?

Would you read another book by Laura Morrigan?

Did the description of Grace’s telepathic/empathic ability with animals seem realistic?

Grace sees her ability as a blessing and a curse. Do you agree? Would you want to have her ability?

Grace believes most people, especially cops, will think she’s crazy if she tells them the truth about her connection to animals. Her sister, Emma, thinks Grace is too timid and should open up. Who do you agree with?

The Call of the Wilde books are written in 1st person and told through Grace’s perspective. If you could read this story from another character’s point of view who would you choose? (You can pick anyone- even an animal!)

Share a favorite quote or moment from the book. Why did it stand out?

Do any of the characters or animals remind you of someone (person or pet) you know?

Having animals in our lives can bring us love, laughter and, too often, heartbreak. What did you think of the antifreeze poisoning scene?

Did you figure out who killed Mark? When did you know?

Did you find all the hidden clues or fall for the red-herrings?
